Heavy and Light

The show begins with words,

Because we believe that words are powerful.

There will also be a lot of music.

Because music suggest it's okay to be honest.

And because music reminds us that we're alive.

We're glad that you're alive.

We're glad that you're in this room.

Tonight has never happened before.

This is not a benefit show.

This is not "Come on out for a good cause."

This an attempt to move you.

Our desire is to invite you into a conversation

that will continue long after the show is over.

Consider the following:

Your story is important.

Your life matters.

You are not the only one who hurts.

You are not the only one with questions.

You are not the only one who dreams.

You are not alone.

Every person in the room,

Every person who stands on that stage:

We are all people in need.

People need other people.

We probably don't have to convince 

you that pain is real.

But in the face of that,

We want you to know that

Hope is real, and that help is real.
